The junior
class of the Loyal High School will be represented at Badger Boys State by
Thomas Luchterhand, son of Robert Luchterhand, Spencer, route 2 and Gerald
LaBarge, son of Ray LaBarge, Loyal, route 2.
Each year the Loyal Post No. 175 American Legion sponsors two boys at Badger Boys State. The selection is made on the basis of scholastic standing, participation in extra-curricular activities, characters and leadership. Jerry and Tom, Together with approximately nine hundred other juniors from Wisconsin high schools, will spend the week of June 12 to 19 at Ripon College, Ripon. They will receive training in local, county and state government, participate in political campaigns, engage in various sports and other extra-curricular activities and experience living together. Boys who have attended Badger Boys State in former years have reported the experience very much worth-while, and consider it one of the high lights of their high school careers.
