Holverson, Hattie (Mrs. A.H.) (7 JAN 1843 – 10 Oct  1915)

Mrs. A.H. Holverson died Sunday afternoon at her home on West 5th Street after a brief illness with pneumonia. She was born Hattie Babcock in New York state on Jan. 7, 1843, and came to this city nearly forty-five years ago. She engaged in the millinery business and about forty years ago was united in marriage to Ed. Markey. Mr. Markey died a number of years ago and Mrs. Markey was united in marriage to Mr. Holverson sixteen years ago.

Deceased was a woman on many exceptionally noble qualities. She attended the Methodist church and was one of the most earnest members of the Women’s Relief Corps and was also a member of the Royal Neighbors. She was charitable in her daily life, kindly in all her actions and lived a life which endeared her in the hearts of all her friends and acquaintances and her death is sincerely regretted by the entire community. She is survived by her husband, all her other relatives having proceeded her in death. The funeral was held at the home on Tuesday afternoon, being in charge of the W.R.C. The sermon was delivered by Rev. Colman. Among those who were here from away for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Selick of Chicago, Frank Babcock and wife of Spencer, Iowa, Mrs. Carl Reichenbach and Miss Jennie Reichenbach of Merrillan, Jos. Reichenbach of Black River Falls and Mrs. W.H. Woolworth of Eau Claire.
