Cook, Harrison (Soldier Visit – 23 Oct 1915)
Last Saturday C.H. Clute and Dan Cook and his son, Harrison, were here from
Greenwood. The younger Mr. Cook is a member of the regular army, having spent
eight years there and having re-enlisted three times. At present he is stationed
at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, but for the past few weeks he has been detailed for duty
at Ft. Sheridan, Ill., assisting in instructing the citizen soldiers. We are
indebted to Mr. Cook for a souvenir booklet describing the military camp at Ft.
Sheridan in illustrated form. Mr. Cook is a pleasant young man to meet and has
had many varied experiences during his service in the army, having served
several months in the Philippines.
