Some trapping is being
carried on in this area. Preparations are in progress for the biggest event of
the year in this locality, the nine-day deer hunting season. Will we ever see
another deer after the slaughter?
Mrs. Altah Thomas of Greenwood and Mrs.
Ralph Thomas and daughter, Linda, of Loyal visited Mrs. Emma Sollberger last
week Thursday morning. Mrs. Johanna Hoesly of Neillsville and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer
Hoesly of Marshfield were guests Sunday of Mrs. Sollberger.
Paul Behrens
of Hebron, Ill., spent the weekend on his property in Columbia. Now owner of the
former George Poertner farm, he has painted the exterior of the house and made
other improvements.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Bohnhoff visited Mr. and Mrs.
Clifford Winter in Pine Valley Sunday evening.
Mrs. Al Mashin of
Neillsville, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mashin and family of York, Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Fox and family and her mother, Mrs. Ella Schmidt of Pine Valley visited
