Grinker, William "Bill" A. (11 AUG 1941 - 16 JUN 2013)

William "Bill" A. Grinker, 71, Town of Holway, died on Sunday, June 16 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, where he had been a patient the past three days. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 21 at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating. Interment of his cremated remains will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in the Town of Little Black. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Lex, Jamie Lex, Goeff Lex, Tommy Lex and Craig Meyer.

Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Hemer Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.

William Grinker was born on August 11, 1941 in the Town of Little Black to the late Charles and Clara (Peissig) Grinker. He attended Lawndale Grade School in the Town of Little Black and was a 1959 graduate of Medford High School. He moved to Milwaukee where he was an apprentice and became a tool and die maker.

On September 12, 1964 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville, he married Joyce Goessl, who survives. He was employed by A.O. Smith/Tower Automotive in Milwaukee, retiring in 2000. In 1971 they moved to Oak Creek, then in 2002 moved to the Owen area.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He enjoyed returning to live on a dirt road after over 40 years in the city, inventing things and obtaining patents, hunting, fishing, gardening and his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Christine O'Toole of Stetsonville and Wendy Fait of Port Washington; nine siblings, Bob (Dorothy) Grinker, Pat (Butch) Hamm and Dick (Jackie) Grinker, all of Dorchester, John Grinker of Medford, George (JoAnne) Grinker of Brookfield, Betty Gall of Colby, Don (Betty) Grinker of Milwaukee, Tom (Kathy) Grinker of Greendale and Joe (Sandy) Grinker of Oak Creek; three grandchildren, Robert and Nicholas Fait and Amanda O'Toole; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Charles T. O'Toole in 2006 and a brother-in-law, John Marvin Gall in 2008.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the family for future designation.
