Marie (Marriage - 15 November 1969)
The Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity
was the setting for the marriage of Miss Karen Marie Gottschalk, daughter of
Harvey and Lorraine Gottschalk of Rt. 1 Unity, to Lionel Ernest Schweiger, son
of John and Evelyn Schweiger of Rt. 2 Loyal. The double-ring candlelight
ceremony was performed by the Rev. Robert Sutherland, at 7 p.m., November 15.
The bride’s floor-length, Empire-style gown of peau de soie and Chantilly
lace, and featured an over-skirt ending in a chapel-length train. Her veil of
English illusion fell from a forward headpiece of peau de soie trimmed with seed
pearls. She carried a bouquet of red and white roses.
Maid-of-honor, Miss
Ellen Strigel of Auburndale, wore a floor-length gown of avocado georgette over
taffeta, with satin trim. Her matching veil was attached to a forward rose
floral headpiece. Gold and brown chrysanthemums formed her bouquet.
Dean
Schweiger of Rt. 2 Loyal, served as bestman. Ushers were Jerry Miller and Donnie
Radue, and Mike Kilty was the acolyte.
A buffet luncheon was served to
about 150 guests at a wedding reception held in Unity.
The bride, a 1965
Colby High School graduate, is employed in Marshfield, and the groom, a 1964
Loyal High School graduate, is an apprentice plumber.
