Mr. and Mrs. Viv Carteron and Mrs. Otto
Schwarze were entertained Sunday for dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene
Carteron in honor of the eighth birthday of their son, Dennis.
Guests
Sunday at the Harlan Brux home were Mr. and Mrs. Vilas Brockman and family of
Freedom, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Luniak and four children of Kimberly and Mr. and
Mrs. Mike Kowieski and granddaughter, Kathy Kowieski, of Auburndale.
George Luebke of Cudahy was a guest Saturday at the Lewis Kaudy home.
Mr. and Mrs. James Koci of Milwaukee spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs.
Julia Koci, and at the home of his sister, Mrs. Francis Kohlnhofer and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Shortess of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Decker and Mrs.
Erna Wehrman spent the weekend in Neenah at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wolf.
Mrs. Wolf is the former Eleanor Decker of Greenwood.
Arthur Glen, infant
son of Mr. and Mrs. James Turnquist was baptized by the Rev. Lee Holmes during
the Sunday morning worship service in Grace United Methodist Church. Sponsors
were the baby’s uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Feldman of Owen. Relatives
and friends were entertained at dinner at the Turnquist home. Grandparents are
Mrs. Glen Dew and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Turnquist of Greenwood.
Mrs. Effie
Swieso, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hendrickson and daughter, Tracy, and Mr. and Mrs.
Leonard Thiede attended a birthday party Sunday at the United Methodist Church
dining room in Loyal. Honored guest was their brother and uncle, Herbert White
of Loyal, who was celebrating his 80th birthday. Sixty-five relatives and
friends were present.
Mrs. Gladys Barnard and son, Robert, arrived
Monday evening from Anaheim, Calif., to visit at the home of Mrs. Glen Dew and
other relatives in the area. Mrs. Barnard is the former Gladys Drew of
Greenwood.
The senior citizens of Greenwood will meet this (Thursday)
evening in the Clark electric auditorium. The program will include a talk by a
social security representative and songs by 4-H clubs. Hostesses will be Mrs.
Irvin Carl, Mrs. Adelbert Wells, Mrs. Alice Speich and Mrs. John Brezic.
The Tri-county clergy will meet at 10 a.m. Friday at the Zion United Church in
Greenwood.
The Happy Hustler Homemakers will meet today (Thursday) at 6
p.m. at the home of Mrs. John Lindner. Mrs. Leona Syth will give the lesson on,
“Manners for special occasions.”
The American Lutheran Church women will
meet in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church this (Thursday) afternoon. Mrs. Donald
Olson, Mrs. Leonard Olson and Mrs. Oscar Olson will be hostesses.
Mrs.
Glen Drew will be hostess at the meeting of the Women’s Society of Christian
Service to be held Friday afternoon in Grace United Methodist Church.
