Fire caught in the ties piled along the tracks of the F. & N.E. Ry.
Yesterday afternoon, and before it was extinguished, three carloads were
destroyed. Prompt and strenuous work prevent further spread to the 50,000 ties
that are waiting for the new extension. (Fairchild Observer)
Mr. and Mrs.
F.E. Jaastad and Miss Olga Jaastad were guests of Mrs. Jaastad's parents at
Unity last week. Mr. Jaastad also visited his relatives at Iola, Wis. They
returned Saturday evening.
Frank Zetsche has rented the farm of Paul R.
Rossman and will work it this summer during the absence of Paul and his family,
who leave for the west the last of this month.
Peter Christopherson is
preparing to move into the L.J. Randles home and Geo. Campbell has moved into
the Ferneau home on Hendren Av.
