Bowen, Edward (Home Burns - 12 MAY 1912)
The home and farm residence of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bowen, who reside on the
old Sawyer Austin farm near Longwood (Clark Co., Wis.), burned Sunday afternoon.
Only a few pieces of furniture and some small articles were saved. About 300
bushels of potatoes were in the cellar and all of last year's wool in the
storehouse was burned. The origin of the first is not learned. It was discovered
at meal time when the family was eating their dinner. Mr. Bowen was severely
burned about the head and hands.
A small amount of insurance was carried
on the building.
