Mrs. Alice Speich has been dismissed from Memorial
Hospital in Neillsville.
Mr and Mrs. Leon Kuester and Delores, Mr. and
Mrs. William Kuester and Loretta, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Calin and Mrs. Hulda
Shorey of Milwaukee were guests Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Bell.
Martin Kirn arrived home Thursday after spending several weeks in
California, where he visited his brother -in-law, E. W. Gray and family at
Glendora.
Pvt. E2 Dennis Fitzl, son of John Fitzl of Rt. 2 Greenwood,
has left for California and Vietnam after spending a 20-day furlough at home.
John Jasurda and daughter, Rita, of Addison, Ill., spent the weekend
with relatives and on Monday, accompanied by his sister, Mrs. John Zepaltas, and
Mrs. Joe Jasurda, attended the funeral of a relative at Phillips.
The
Come and Know Homemakers met Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Milton Ystad.
Mrs. Tom Querin presided. Mrs. Querin gave the lesson on “Understanding
Emergencies.” It was decided to have a Christmas party “supper out” with
husbands as guests on December 7. Gifts will be exchanged.
Members of the
Salem Aid met Tuesday afternoon in Zion United Church. Mrs. Harold Gardner
presided. They planned their Christmas benevolence donations. The next meeting
will be a Christmas party at Zion Church at 2 p.m. December 16. Gifts will be
exchanged. Each member is asked to bring a friend. A potluck lunch will be
served.
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Huiras and son-in-law of St. Paul, Minn.
visited last week at the Frances Jelercic and Valentine Yurkovich homes.
The following were lucky deer hunters so far: Dick Noah, Kenny Kirn, Pat
Herrick, Walter Hribar, Jr., John Trunkel and Jack Volovsek.
The
following attended a birthday party for Mrs. Mary Gosar at her home last
Thursday night: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Artac and Lawrence, Mr. and Mrs. Ignatz
Sladich and family, Mr. and Mrs. John F. Trunkel and family, Mr. and Mrs. Allen
Wessel and son and Rev. Michael Mertens. On Wednesday Mrs. Roman Stroinski of
Thorp came and Sunday night Miss Donna Gosar of Marshfield arrived for the
occasion.
John Govek is home from River Falls University for the
Thanksgiving vacation.
