Mrs. Eva Evans, 89, formerly of Loyal died Monday, June 8, at 10 p.m. at the
Bethel Convalescent Home in Arpin, where she had been a resident for the past
six years. She died of old age complications.
The body will lie in state
at the Myre Funeral Home beginning Thursday morning. Funeral services will be
held at 3:30 p.m. Friday from the Myre Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Doering will
officiate and burial will take place in the Loyal Cemetery.
Mrs. Eva
Evans, the former Eva Lane, was born in Mauston on January 6, 1875. Her marriage
to William Evans took place July 14, 1896 at Mauston. Mrs. Evans grew up in
Mauston and after her marriage she and her husband farmed there until 1907 when
they came to Clark County and purchased a farm in the town of Loyal, here they
farmed for 35 years. In 1942 they retired and moved to Loyal. Her husband
preceded her in death in March of 1961.
Mrs. Evans was a member of the
Loyal Methodist Church.
She is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Herman
(Jennie) Bires, Eugene, Oregon; Mrs. Henry (Cecelia) Andregg, Loyal; Mrs. Carl
(Rosetta) Olstinski, Racine; and Mrs. Clayton (Irene) Bassett, Fort Wayne,
Indiana; one son, William Jr. of Marshfield; and also Nineteen grandchildren; 41
great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by one
sister; One sister and two brothers preceded her in death.
