The Trinity Lutheran Church of Loyal was the scene Saturday, June 13, at
1:30 p.m. of the wedding of Velora Ardith Behnke and Lowell Arwin Roehl.
The bride is the daughterof Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Behnke, route 2, Loyal, and the
groom is the son of Mrs. Freida Roehl, route 2, Loyal.
The bride who was
given in marriage by her father was attired in a floor length gown of white silk
organza over taffeta, with an insertion of chantilly lace forming the molded
bodice. The full hoop skirt was accented by jewel trimmed appliqués in the front
And completed by a detachable lace train. Her headpiece was a floral cap trimmed
with seed pearls, and a finger tip veil of silk illusion. She carried a bouquet
of red roses and sweetheart roses to match, with ivy and white stephanotis.
The maid of honor was Miss Patricia Behnke, Milwaukee; and bridesmaids were
Mrs. Paul Guillaume, Spencer, and Miss Bonnie Nelson, Loyal. The aides were
dressed in yellow street length dresses with detachable train effects and yellow
floral headpieces to match. Their bouquets were of green Cymbidium surrounded by
white daises with yellow centers and ivy.
The best man was Mr. Elgin
Roehl, Loyal; and groomsmen were Mr. Paul Guillaume, Spencer, and Mr. Erlin
Roehl, Loyal. Ushers were Mr. Kenneth Behnke and Dennis Lee.
The church
was decorated for the occasion with bouquets of mixed cut flowers, and during
the ceremony which was performed by Pastor A. M. Moldenhauer; Miss Helen
Noeldner sang “Oh Promise Me” Following the ceremony, Pastor Moldehhauer sang
“The Lord’s Prayer.” Accompanist at the organ was Miss Faith Moldenhauer.
A reception was held at the bride’s home during the afternoon, followed by a
supper in the church parlors. A dance was held in the evening at the Silver Dome
Ballroom, Neillsville.
The bride is a 1961 graduate of the Loyal High
School and has been employed at the Citizen’s State Bank of Loyal. The groom is
also a graduate of the Loyal High School in 1957, and a 1964 graduate of Fall
River Falls State College. He is a sel-employed roofer.
After a trip
through the eastern states, the couple will make their home in Loyal.
