Artac, Johanna (15 November 1888 - 7 November 1969)

Mrs. Johanna Artac, 81, former Willard resident, died in Milwaukee Sunday morning.

Mrs. Artac, the former Johanna Lusina, was bon November 15, 1888, in Yugoslavia. She came to the United States at 18 years of age. She was married May 5, 1907 in Waukegan, Ill., to Michael Artac. They came to Willard in 1910 and farmed until 1949. The last three and one-half years she had lived with her daughter, Jennie, in Milwaukee.

She is survived by two daughters, Jennie and Mrs. Ernest (Emily) Haug, both of Milwaukee; two sons, Frank of Greenwood and Ludwig of Willard; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Antonia Merlac of Sterling, Ill.

Funeral services were scheduled for Wednesday from the hill Funeral home in Greenwood and the Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. The Rev. Michael Mertens was to officiate, with burial to be made in the Holy Family Cemetery.
