The Cannonville Ladies Aid, which was entertained by Mrs. George
Allbaugh last Thursday, was attended by nine members and four visitors. Mrs.
Donald Kalsow, Mrs. Ed Short, Mrs. Frank Short and Mrs. Ernest Backhaus were the
visitors. The ladies voted to buy fuel oil to heat the church for the Youth for
Christ group meetings, which have been held every week at the church. After the
business meeting the ladies had as entertainment a play written by Mrs. George
Gorbet. They they exchanged Christmas gifts. Mrs. Oliver Williams will be
hostess at the next meeting, which will be held January 21.
Mr. and Mrs.
Irving Stevens and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Urban attended the funeral of Mrs. Dopp,
mother of Leland Dopp, and Mrs. Oliver Stettler of Marshfield, in Granton,
Saturday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ammentorp and daughter of
Milwaukee spent the weekend with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Urban and daughters, and visited her mother, Mrs. Nellie Urban, in the
hospital at Owen and his father, near Withee Saturday.
Wendell and Ed
Kuhn and Jerry Lincoln assisted Mrs. Art Odell with some work the fore part of
the week.
Mr. and Mrs. Jon Reinart and family, and Mary and David Austin,
drove to Eau Claire Sunday afternoon, taking Judy back to school. They spent the
afternoon with Mrs. Reinart’s brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Don Syth,
and son. Judy planned to come home Wednesday afternoon to spend Christmas Day
and the weekend.
