Mohr, Carol Jean (17 October 1947 - 21 June
2013)
Carol Mohr, 65, of Neillsville died Friday, June 21, 2013, at St.
Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
Carol Jean Houck was born Oct. 17, 1947,
in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Robert and Laverne (Piehl) Houck. After high
school, she went to business school for two years, which led to a job working
for her uncle’s printing company and for her father as a typesetter for 20
years. After that, she worked in estate cleanouts and also the billing for that
job. When Carol sold her house in Chicago, she moved to Neillsville and worked
for Sunburst. Jan. 30, 2000 she was united in marriage to Frederic Mohr in
Neillsville. Together they farmed. Carol love to cook for her family and read.
She was a quiet, simple woman who loved her family and loved to visit. If anyone
wanted to know the weather, they could just ask Carol, as her favorite channel
was the weather channel.
She is survived by her husband, Fred; a son,
Steve (Holly) Fant of Louisiana; daughters, Sarah Marshall of Marshfield and
Katee (Fiancé Adam Haffenberedl) Brogan; three step-children, Jenny (Rob) Wagner
of Neillsville, Becky (Jeremiah) Farmer of Blair and Peggy Mohr of Neillsville;
and 24 grandchildren. Carol is also survived by a brother, Glen Houck, of
Illinois; a sister, Linda Gayten, of Fort Myers, FL; and a best friend, Cheryl
Friedemann, of Chili.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service for Carol was held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, at the
Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, with visitation one hour prior to the
service. Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Serving as
casketbearers were Rob Wagner, Josh Hoffman, Chris Wetzel, Tyler Mohr, Blain
Marshall and Corey Rinehart.
