(Greenwood, Clark Co., Wis.) 6 Feb 1913
The old bear came out Wednesday
morning and took just one sniff when he turned tail and went into his hole,
satisfied for another three months. Clute saw him just as he disappeared. Over
fifty teams are hauling logs to Foster's landing and last week half a million
feet were hauled. Some days as high as one hundred loads are hauled in by the
farmers.
J.W. Stanton of Mondovi bought three forties of land from C.H.
Clute Saturday, adjoining Morris Anderson, and will move his family here soon.
19 degrees in the hole Tuesday morning.
