Richard Pohl, in moving
some corn stalks last Friday, got rid of forty-two full grown rats. He killed
twenty-two and the dog the remainder. Rats are getting rather numerous around
here.
Mrs. C. Melius returned from the hospital at Marshfield Saturday
and is now at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Geo. Goehring. She had an operation
performed on her eyes when she was threatened with blindness, and at present is
unable to see.
The eight year old son of William Wichman of the town of
Beaver had the misfortune to break his right leg on the thigh...(the rest of my
