Funeral services for William Becherer, Colby, were held Sunday, Feb. 7, at the Zion Lutheran church in Colby.  The Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiated, and burial was made in the Colby Memorial cemetery.

Pallbearers were Marcellus Foster, Dale Reis, Henry Aderhold, Delphin Domer and Arnold Strathman.

Mr. Becherer died Thursday Feb. 4, at the Sunny Vale Infirmary in Wausau.  He was 90 years old.

William Becherer was born Feb. 23, 1874, in Howards Grove, Wis.  He came to the Colby area at the age of eight, and received his education in the Colby schools.  In 1901 he married Louisa Schumacher at Fairfax, Minn.  The couple farmed near Fairfax until 1913, when they bought a farm in the town of Hull.  The Becherers retired in 1946 and moved into the city of Colby.  Mrs. Becherer died in March 1959.  They had been members of the Zion Lutheran church since 1915.

Surviving is one son, Willard Becherer of Colby; nine grand children and five great grand children; one brother, Louis of Greenwood; and one sister, Bertha Becherer of Wausau.  He was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.
