East Lynn (25 Nov 1915)
A flag pole has been erected on
the school ground.
School closed last Friday for a week’s vacation. The
teacher, Miss Emma Furlong, left for her home at Thorp for a short visit.
All public highways will be sprinkled with insect powder next summer to kill
the road lice.

Alvin Sternitzky, an
outlaw of East Lynn, who has thus far escaped the matrimonial net, but of late
has acted rather suspicious. He made a trip to Neillsville last week and left
his order for a new suit of clothes. It is also stated that on the same day he
inquired about the price of a license, but whether he referred to marriage
license, hunting license or dog license remains a secret, but judging by his
late behavior, it is safe to state that the former was the object he had in
view.
The only lucky nimrod of this vicinity is James Quicker, who was
fortunate enough to bag a 220 pound deer.
Fred Grade made a trip to the
county seat last Saturday and took out citizen papers.
A number of
neighbors helped Chas. Reisner celebrate his birthday last Saturday evening.
