Schlueter, Richard (22 January 1899 - 18
February 1970)
Richard Schlueter, 71, of Belle Plaine, Minn., formerly of
Neillsville, died at University Hospital, Minneapolis, Minn. February 18.
Funeral services were held Friday at Belle Plaine and Saturday at 1:30 p.m. from
the Georgas Funeral Home in Neillsville. The Rev. Robert Bitter, pastor of
Immanuel Lutheran Church of Globe, officiated. Burial was made in the church
cemetery at Globe.
Mr. Schlueter was born January 22, 1889, in Cologne,
Minn., to the late Henry Schlueter and Mrs. Antonia (Briesimeister) Schlueter,
who lives in Belle Plaine. He received his education and farmed there. After his
marriage to Erna Hagedorn, in Globe, on February 18, 1925, they farmed in
Minnesota for a year, then came to Clark County and farmed in the Town of
Weston. He lived in the city of Neillsville for a time before moving to
Marshfield, where he was employed for 10 years. After his wife’s death July 15,
1953, he returned to Minnesota and worked as a carpenter until he retired.
Survivors include his mother and three brothers, Leonard of LeSueur, Minn.,
Eberhardt of Lester Prairie, Minn., and Hardwig of McCovey, Minn.
Pallbearers were: Herman Hemp, Leo Hemp, Frank Thoma, Herman Dux, Theodore Mitte
and Frederick Grap, Sr. Mrs. Roger Helm sang “Rock of Ages” and “Abide with Me”,
accompanied by Mrs. Herman Hagedorn.

Eberhardt Schlueter of Waconia, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Schlueter of Lester
Prairie, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Moldenhauer of Taylor; Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Nemitz, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nemitz and Jim Nemitz of Bloomer; Mr. and Mrs. Irvin
Marg of Alma Center; Mr. and Mrs. Roger Helm of Granton and Mr. and Mrs. Lester
Rachu of Marshfield.
