Sollberger, Emma (9 September 1893 - 14 March 1970)
Mrs. John (Emma)
Sollberger, 76, of Neillsville died at her home at Columbia, in the Town of
Hewett, March 14. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. at the Georgas Funeral
Home with the Rev. Robert Bitter, pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in
Globe officiating. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Mrs.
Sollberger, daughter of Ferdinard and Amelia (Markert) Buelow, was born
September 9, 1893, in the Town of Honey Creek in Sauk County. She received her
education at Merrimac and came to Humbird in 1907 and later to Neillsville,
locating on a farm where she lived until her death. Her marriage to John
Sollberger, who preceded her in death April 18, 1967, took place July 1, 1913 in
Neillsville. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Globe.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Frances) Kolbrak of Altoona and
Mrs. Elmer (Alice) Hoesly of Marshfield; three sisters, Mrs. William, (Caroline)
Eschenbach of Baraboo; Mrs. Kate Van Horn of Humbird and Mrs. Lillian Moffatt of
King; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Henry Stiemke, Arnold
Karl, Wilson Bohnhoff, Lyle Johnson, Clifford Winters and William Rieder. Gavin
Upton of Black River Falls sang “Whispering Hope” and “Beyond the Sunset”
accompanied by Mrs. Iris Musil.

Bradley Moffatt of Menasha.

from our area another of the early settlers and old-timers of this community.
Mrs. Sollberger had continued living on the family farm after the death of her
husband in 1967.
