Peaslee, Lepha A. (28 February
1878 - 11 March 1970)
Mrs. Lepha A. Peaslee, 92, of Memorial Home died
March 11. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Georgas Funeral
Home. The Rev. Conrad Mikelson, pastor of the Methodist Church at Loyal
officiated and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Mrs.
Peaslee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wills (Vance) Mills was born February 28, 1878
in Vernon County where she received her education. She was married there on
February 24, 1897, to Thomas Peaslee who preceded her in death in 1946. They
came to Clark County in the early 1920s and located on a farm in Granton. They
also farmed in the Greenwood and Neillsville area before their retirement to the
city of Neillsville in 1936. She entered Memorial Home in 1964.
Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Mertie Davis of Granton, Mrs. Ed (Hazel)
Lezotte of Neillsville and Mrs. Norman (Lida) Kuhl of Sussex; five sons, Herman
Peaslee of Madison, Frank Peaslee, D. C., of Pekin, Ill., Raymond Peaslee, of
Richland Center, Glenn Peaslee of Lake Villa, Ill., and Harley Peaslee of Zion,
Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Jessie Nicks of Viroqua; 44 grandchildren and 88
great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Alvin Lezotte, Virgil Lezotte,
Leroy Lezotte, Warren Davis, Clarence Hoesly and Dick Oldham. Nyle and Larry
Benedict sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “In the Garden” accompanied by Mrs.
Jess W. Scott.

Elmer Merry and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Merry of Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. Herman
Peaslee of Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Peaslee, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Ebert, Mr.
and Mrs. Pat Kraska and family and Mrs. Arlene Moser and Linda of Richland
Center; Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Peaslee of Lake Villa, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Kuhl
of Sussex; Mr. and Mrs. Harley Peaslee of Zion, Ill.; Mrs. Jessie Nick, Mrs.
Beatrice Small, Mrs. Frank Mills, and Mr. and Mrs. Troy Fish of Viroqua; Mrs.
Charles Priebbernow and Mrs. Gunda Sorenson of Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Allen larson
of Janesville; Mr and Mrs. Arnold Eppers of Chili; Miss Agnes Lazotte and Mrs.
Genevieve Lazotte of Neenah; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Holnbach and Family of Rudolph;
Mrs. Rynske of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Kitzhaber and family and Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Schultz and family of Greenwood and many relative and friends from
the Granton and Neillsville areas.
