Mr. and Mrs. Ed Noyes of Eau Claire visited Saturday at the Chester Bailey home.
Among those from this vicinity who attended the R.E.A. program at Black
River Falls Thursday were Mmes. Walter Sheffer, Chester Bailey, LaVern Kitlinger
and Harriette Gorst.
Mrs. Elgie Hardwick attended the wedding of her
granddaughter in Altoona Saturday.
Mr and Mrs. Arnold Matti were guests
Saturday afternoon at the Claire Enerson home to help Mrs. Enerson celebrate her
birthday.
Among those from here who are hospital patients are Ed Shramek
and Augusta Peterson at Black River Falls; Mrs. Huldah Winscher at Neillsville;
and Mrs. Helen Fitzmaurice in Eau Claire.
Mr and Mrs. Herb Adler drove to
Wausau Thursday to spend the day with their daughter, Mrs. Jane Schickert.
Mr. and Mrs. John Burchell entertained the N.A.R.C.E. club recently.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Holman and Eddie of Chicago and Miss Linda Reineck of
Alma Center were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Duerkop.
Mr.
and Mrs. John Aebersold were called here to attend the funeral of her niece’s
husband, Roger Janke, on Saturday. While here they also visited Mr. Aebersold’s
sister, Mrs. Emma Gerber, and at the William Aebersold home.
Mrs. Helene
Nelson of Eau Claire came Saturday to spend the day with her mother, Mrs. Maude
Newton. In the late afternoon Mrs. Thane Joos of Alma Center came to have coffee
and birthday cake in honor of her coming birthday this Saturday.
Mr. and
Mrs. Stanley Adler and children were dinner guests Sunday of his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Herb Adler, and also visited at the Lloyd Schlichter home.
Mrs.
Elmer Duerkop and Mrs. Emma Gerber visited last weekend with the John
Aebersolds, Mrs. Hattie Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. James Foster in Rockford, Ill.,
Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Riggs in Zion, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Tichy in
Mundelein, Ill.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Fitzmaurice and family of Augusta spent
Saturday with the home folks.
Mrs. Leo Janke left Monday from Minneapolis
by plane for Santa Rosa, Calif., where she will visit her brother, Gale
Lightfoot. She will also visit at the Orville Creviston home in Kemptonville,
and their son, Ricky Janke, who is with the armed forces at Long Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Levi Fitzmaurice and Mildred spent Sunday at the Ed Holub home in
rural Neillsville.
Mrs. Ed Tande and sister, Mrs. Ed Matysik of rural
Fairchild, left Thursday by plane for Mesa, Ariz., where they will visit at the
Henry Johnston home.
Mr. and Mrs. Everett Senske, Joe and Jeff of St.
Paul and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Walker and children of Honolulu were weekend
visitors at the Archie Kirby home.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Greub and Cherie
Rae of River Falls were weekend guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Greub.
Carl Greub of Neillsville was a visitor Saturday evening at the Greub home.
Mrs. Lottie Flynn and jean Collins accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Lang to
Neillsville Tuesday afternoon and visited all the Humbirdites at the Memorial
Home. Mr. Lang’s father resides there.
Matie Smith came home Friday night
from a six-week visit at the home of her son in Spencer and her daughter, Mrs.
Ida Potvin, in St. Paul. While at her daughter’s home she also visited Miss
Zella Brandstedter in Minneapolis, Mrs. Gladys Jenness, the former Gladys
Fowler, and Mrs. Norma Hein.
Archie Kirby, accompanied by Mel Markham and
Harold Losey of Fairchild, drove to Eau Claire Saturday to attend a meeting of
the Masonic Scottish rites degree.
Mrs. Grace Peterson of Black River
Falls and Mrs. Mabel Finn of Merrillan spent Monday with Mrs. Don Staves.
