Frank Pozega, Jr., has been
discharged from the army. He arrived by plane in St. Paul, Minn., from Fort
Riley, Kans., where he was stationed recently. Then he and his brother, Dave,
arrived here last Thursday.
The FHA of 23 girls and eight mothers enjoyed
a trip last Thursday to St. Paul, Minn. While there they visited the “House of
the Future.”
Sp4 Allen McFarlane is here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Don McFarlane, on a 30-day furlough. He has been in Vietnam for a year.
Mrs. Robert Gannon and children of Blair spent some time with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Alfonz Hemersbach.
Steve and George Plautz attended a road
builder’s convention in Milwaukee last Monday and Tuesday. They visited their
sisters, sons, and other relatives while there.
John Govek is home from
River Falls University for the Easter vacation.
Susan and Carol Plautz of
Greenwood were guests here of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Plautz.
The P.C.C.W. held a bake sale and the Slovenian Women’s Union held their
Easter basket sale last Sunday at the church hall.
Mr. and Mrs. John
Scharenbrock were guests last Wednesday of Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig Jordan.
Mrs. Ann Lauer and Mr. and Mrs. George Lauer and family of Stanley were guests
Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig Jordon.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lamovec and son,
Ray, were guests last Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. James Anderson and son in Eau
Claire.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Krapf, Jr., and family of Hales Corners
spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Krapf, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Ewald
Schwarze.
Mrs. Anna Volovsek left last week for Superior to visit her
son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Volovsek and family.
Mr. and
Mrs. John Bailen and family of Milwaukee were here with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Artac and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Meinholdt of Milwaukee were
weekend guests of his parents, Mr and Mrs. Edward Meinholdt, and in thorp with
her mother, Mrs. Mattes.
Mr. and Mrs. John Severson of Minneapolis,
Minn., were guests of his mother, Mrs. Eva Severson, and also wee supper guests
of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Backus and family.
A large crowd attended the card
party at the church hall last Sunday night. St. Bernadette’s group provided the
lunch. John Perme and Victor Halbrader were the chairmen. Prizes were awarded.
Mrs. Thurman Craig was in Newcastle, Ind., recently, called there by the
serious illness of her sister, who died Friday after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Thurman Craig was admitted to Memorial Hospital in Neillsville last
Tuesday.
Tom Stiefvater of Franklin was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Mike
Klapatauskas.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Lamovec and son of Milwaukee spent some
time with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lamovec.
A birthday party was
held last Sunday for Lorri Debevec, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Debevec.
Nine of her classmates were present. In the evening supper guests were Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Neuenfeldt and Rev. Michael Mertens.
