Smagacz, Pearl (12 September 1986 - 19

Mrs. Pearl Smagacz, age 73, of 1224 Van Buren St., Black
River Falls, passed away Monday evening, January 19, 1970 at the Black River
Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 12, 1896, in City Point, Wisconsin.
She and her husband, Michael, operated a cranberry marsh for many years in the
City Point area before retiring to Black River Falls.
Mrs. Smagacz is
survived by three sisters, Mrs. Anne Healy and Mrs. Susan Morrissey, both of
Minneapolis; Mrs. Denver Duty of Bakersfield, Calif., three brothers, Frank
Michalak of Black River Falls, Walter of City Point, and Adolph of Minneapolis.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for
Mrs. Smagacz were held Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. from the Langlois-Galston
Funeral Home, Black River Falls, and 10:00 a.m. from Martyr’s Chapel, City
Point. Rev. Fr. Hodges of Pittsville officiated. Interment was in the church
cemetery. Friends called at the Langlois-Galston Funeral Home on Wednesday
afternoon and evening. A Prayer service was conducted there Wednesday evening.
