Smagacz, Michael (28 May 1896 - 29 June 1969)
Michael Smagacz, age 73, of
1224 Van Buren Street, Black River Falls, passed away early Sunday morning, June
29, 1969, at St. Francis Hospital, La Crosse, where he had been a patient for
the past two weeks. Mr. Smagacz was born May 28, 1896, in Poland and came to
America as a young man. He settled in the City Point area where he was employed
by the railroad for many years and also operated a cranberry marsh. Upon his
retirement 15 years ago, he and his wife moved to Black River Falls.
Mr.
Smagacz is survived by his widow, Pearl, and nieces and nephews.
Funeral
services for Michael Smagacz were held on Wednesdays morning at 9:00 a.m. from
the Langlois-Galston Funeral Home and at 10:00 a.m. from Martyr’s Chapel near
City Point, Rev. Eiden officiating. Interment was made in Spaulding Cemetery.
Friends called at the Langlois-Galston Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon and
evening. A Bible vigil was at 8:00 p.m.
