Pernsteiner, Ella (24 April 1897-10 Aug 1964)

Mrs. Joseph Pernsteiner, 67, died at 10:30 p.m. Monday, August 10 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, after having been a patient there for ten days. The cause of her death of her death was a heart condition.

The funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, with Father N. E. King officiating.

The body will lie in state at the Myre Funeral Home beginningThursday morning. A general Rosary will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Pernsteiner, the former Ella Crostwaite, was born April 24, 1897 in the town of Holway in Taylor County. She received her education in the Medford schools. She was married to Joseph Pernsteiner at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at Medford on September 20, 1916.

They lived in the Medford area until 1952 and then moved to a farm west of Loyal where she has lived since.

Mrs. Pernsteiner is a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal, and a member of St. Mary;s Altar Society. She is also a member of the West Side Homemakers club.

Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ray (Erna) McNeely, Loyal and five sons, Alvin, Medford; Herman and Joseph Jr., Granton; and Chester and James of Loyal; She is also survived by 41 living grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one brother, Albert Croswaite, San Antonio, Texas.

Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Myre Funeral Home.
