Burroughs, Franklin (1842 - 10
JUL 1910)
Franklin Burroughs, a former resident of this city (Greenwood,
Clark Co., Wis.), died at his home in Tomah last Sunday, of Apoplexy, at the age
of 67 years. Mr. Burroughs was taken suddenly ill two weeks ago last Sunday, the
direct cause for which is not known. He was apparently well and health the
Saturday previous, having been around all day, doing a little work and
conversing with the neighbors.
His death is a sad affliction to the few
remaining relatives, including an aged wife who has been dependent on him for a
great deal of care and comfort these past few years.
Deceased was a man
of sterling qualities, ability and a man whose name was held by his friends as
that of one who was honest in business and all other transactions and was
endeared to the hearts of his loved ones.
His body arrived at this place
Wednesday for burial. Short services were held at the grave by the Masonic
order, of which he was a member.
Those who accompanied the remains here
are Mrs. F. Burroughs, V.J. Clute and son Frank.
