Mrs. Elizabeth Merrill raised a vine of tomato grapes which
was perfectly loaded with small tomatoes the size of a thorn apple, some of
which were ripe and had a fine tomato flavor.
The neighbors gathered and
surprised Charles Brussow in the town of Loyal last Sunday, the occasion being
his fifty-eighty birthday anniversary. A good time was had by all.
Mr.
and Mrs. B.F. Barnett and his sister, Mrs. Carr of Ludington, Mich., returned
today after a visit of a few days with his brother, H.W. Barnett, in the town of
York.
W.S. Irvine, Sergeant at Arms, left for Madison Monday where the
nominated members of assembly and state senators will draw up a Republican
platform.
Mrs. Eva Chadwick, accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Nettie Cox
of Greenwood, left yesterday to visit for two months with their parents, Mr. and
Mrs. W. Chandler at Picton, Canada.
