Miss Emma Koehler returned from Rib Lake on Tuesday.

W.C. Fox of Merrillan was a business visitor here last week.

A.C. Barr is making a specialty of sharpening plow points and discs.

Hasting Baird is having a new coat of paint administered to his residence.

John Booth and Andrew Amundson were Maplehurst visitors on Sunday.

Mrs. Paul Rossman, Sr., will entertain the German Ladies Society Friday (tomorrow).

L.C. Kleinschmidt left for Prairie du Sac Friday, where he will do carpenter work this winter.

The Odd Fellows and Rebekahs will drive out to Wm. Rossman's farm this evening for a general good time.

Mrs. Mary Ann Shanks returned from Eau Claire Tuesday, where she was in attendance at her son's wedding.

Dan O'Reilly left for Stevens Point Wednesday, where he will work on a local train from Stevens Point to Abbotsford.

Mr. and Mrs. E. Brown of Alberta Canada, arrived Monday for a visit with Mrs. Brown's brother and family, Henry Boe.

The marriage of Miss Mabel Bishop to Mr. Royal G. Nelson of Marshfield took place last night at the bride's home. We will give a detailed account next week.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Miller have moved into the F.H. Pfunder residence. Mrs. Pfunder will join her husband at Superior, where they will make their home this winter.

Jacob Volk received the sad news of the death of a little niece in Milwaukee on Tuesday. He left yesterday morning for Milwaukee to be in attendance at the funeral today.

Geo. Vollrath, so of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Vollrath of the west Side, returned home from the Marshfield Hospital Tuesday, having undergone a successful operation for appendicitis.

Announcements are out announcing the marriage of one of Greenwood boys, David J. Shanks, to Miss Ellen Armstad of Eau Claire, on Monday, Oct. 3rd. Particulars will be given next week.

The work on the new Norwegian Lutheran Church, which is being built on the southeast corner of Simon Johnson's farm, is nearing completion rapidly. Friday the shingling was completed.

Pearl Baird went to Chicago Friday and returned Monday. She visited with her brother, Ross and family, who reside there.

Mrs. Ralph Meek and son and Mrs. Ben Johnson and son came up from Fond du Lac Tuesday to visit among relatives and friends.

Mrs. F.J. Klinke has been spending sometime at the Kubat home in York. Mrs. Kubat has been ill with inflammatory rheumatism.

Gibson's Orchestra will be here Wednesday, Oct. 12. They will render the music for a dance given under the management of the hall.

Mrs. Al Jenson was brought here Monday by her husband from Granton. She has been suffering from neuralgia for several months past.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Rossman, Sr., were visitors at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Arthur Darton in the town of Beaver, several days last week.

Sm. Andrews returned from Buffalo, S.D., Saturday. William has about 20 acres broke on his claim and a shanty built. He reports crops to be as good there as anywhere in Dakota. He will return again in March.

Geo. Campbell and family have rented the first floor of Frank Andrews' residence where they will live this winter. Frank and family will live upstairs until spring, when he will build on his forty opposite Geo. Van Voorhis.
