Anderson, Milo (? - OCT 1910)

The body of Milo Anderson, of whose death by drowning in the Columbia River near Portland, Ore, was mentioned last week, was found about a quarter of a mile below the fording place, after a three week search. He was born on his father's farm two miles nor of this city (Greenwood, Clark Co., Wis.). He attended the school of his district and one year in the high school at Greenwood, also taking an agricultural course at Madison a year later. Some three years ago he moved with his folks to Waukesha and worked on the Edgewood farm for two year, gaining a reputation as an up to date dairyman.

Some time ago he accepted a position on a farm in North Dakota, where he worked with his brother Alvin for some time. Not liking the country, they decided to go father west and accordingly they accepted positions near Portland. Milo was greatly pleased with the country and unfolded his plans for the future to his father. His habits were strictly temperate, never using intoxicants or tobacco in any form. These qualities, couple with fair education, a sunny disposition, a high sense of morality, willingness to do his duty, are taken from this life by the death of a young man this country can ill afford to lose. It is no wonder he has left so many friends that are sincerely grieved over his untimely death. To his father this bereavement is hard to hear.

Friends here extend to Mr. Anderson their sincere sympathy in his time of sorrow. The body of Milo was laid at rest in a cemetery near Portland.
