Hansen, Ronald J. (26 May 1940 - 26 March 1970)
Funeral
services for Ronald J. Hansen, 29, who was killed in an auto accident on Highway
13, near Colby March 26, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Roycraft Funeral
Home. The Rev. John Olson officiated and burial was made in St. Anthony’s
Catholic Cemet4ery.
Mr. Hansen was born May 26, 1940 in Neillsville where
he received his education. He served for three and one-half years in the United
States Navy. On September 7, 1963, he was married to Dawn Schlagenhaft at St.
Anthony’s Church in Loyal. He owned a lumber business for several years and was
employed at the Greenwood Farmers Cooperative.
Survivors include his
wife, a son, Ronald, Jr., at home; five step-children, Mark and Barbara
Schlagenhaft at home and James Schlagenhaft of Fort Riley, Kans., Cheryl of
Whitewater State University and Karen Schlagenhaft of Madison; his mother, Mrs.
Matti Hansen of Neillsville; six brothers, William of Neillsville, Richard of
Camp Douglas, Carroll of Spencer, Harold and Dennis, both of Marshfield, and
James Hansen, who is with the armed forces in Okinawa; and six sisters, Virginia
Kuehn of Granton, Mildred Kopinski of Brewster, Minn., Arlene Kopinski of
Fairchild, Marlene Heinzen and Irene Oestreich, both of Marshfield, and Mavis
Hansen of Neillsville.
Pallbearers were Donald Beaver, Vern Sevens, Doug
Rasmussen, Carroll Hansen, Harold Hansen and Dennis Hansen.
Military
rites were conducted at the graveside.
