FINAL RITES AT THORP FOR LOUIS J. GRUSZYNSKI

Final rites for Louis J. Gruszynski , 51 were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, when a High Mass was said at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church at Thorp. Father Francis Brockman was the officiant. Burial was made at Riverside cemetery, Withee.

Serving as pallbearers were Francis J. Conway, W. F. Nolchek, Arthur Jacque, Joseph Pabich, William Mahoney Jr. and Norbert Pabich.

Mr. Gruszynski succumbed to a lingering illness and heart complications on October 3, 1964, at South Bend, Indiana. Born Dec. 29, 1912, at Ladysmith, Wisconsin, the deceased made his home in that community for a number of years and then moved to Thorp, where he lived for several years with his aunt and uncle, Clara and Louis Gruszynski. Later he served as a licensed butter maker at the Thorp Dairy Plant until moving to Longwood where he and his wife, the former Elizabeth Joan Erickson, whom he married on March 22, 1941, at Sioux City, Iowa, owned and operated a general store. For the past 15 years he and his family have made their home in South Bend, Indiana, where he was a salesman for the Kaniewski Furniture Store.

His passing is mourned by his wife, Elizabeth; one son, Thomas R. of South Bend, Indiana; a brother, Clarence J. Gryszynski also of South Bend, Ind., and his aunt and uncle, Clara and Louis Gruszynski of Thorp.
