Teclaw, Alicia (? - 3 July 2013)
Alicia Teclaw, of Abbotsford, formerly of Owen, found eternal rest on July 3,
2013, at the age of 83. The loving daughter of the late Joseph Teclaw of
Vancouver, WA and Caroline (Gay) Teclaw of Owen; the dear sister of the late
Lorraine (Paul) Firnstahl and Donald (Ruth) Teclaw; a loving aunt of Diane
(Michael) Lotter of Wausau, Cindy (Leroy) Fricke of Colby, Donna (Robert) Held,
of Pewaukee, Brian Teclaw of New Berlin and Jerry (Michele) Teclaw of Shorewood.
She is further survived by great nieces and nephews, other relatives and
friends.
Alicia grew up in the Owen area and had fond memories of living
at the Happy Hollow, a tavern in rural Owen; she operated with her mother,
Caroline. In the 1960s she worked for several years as a secretary in the
Milwaukee area. After that, she moved back “home” and worked at Figi’s Cheese in
Marshfield. Her favorite job, an aide in the audiovisual department at Colby
Unified School District, ended unexpectedly when she suffered a stroke in 1998.
For the last 15 years, Alicia has been living in various assisted-living
communities.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m. on
Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Abbotsford. Father
Daniel Hackel officiated. Burial was held in Riverside Cemetery in rural Withee.
A time of visitation was held from 10:00 until 10:30 a.m. with a rosary service
at 10:40 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.
The family would like to thank
Alicia’s caregivers at Country Terrace in Abbotsford, Clark County Health Care
Center in Owen, and Pine Ridge Assisted Living in Colby.
