St. Anthony’s
Catholic Church, Loyal was the scene Saturday, August 29, at 10 a.m. of the
wedding of Miss Andrea Anna Wehe and John Weyer.
Father Norbert E. King
officiated at the Nuptial Mass. St. Anthony’s choir sang the Mass with Mrs,
Edward Trnka playing the organ.
Parents of the newlyweds are Mr. John
Wehe, Loyal and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Weyer, Loyal.
The bride, who came down
the aisle on the arm of her father, was attired in a floor length gown of
chantilly lace over taffeta, with jewel trim scalloped bateau neckline on a
fitted bodice. The full hoop skirt of lace had an insertion of nylon tulle near
the front hemline, with self-fabric rose trim. The back was comprised of
rufflkaes of lace and tulle. A bouffant veil was secured to a queen’s crown of
pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses, swansonia and white
carnations.
The matron of honor, the bride’s sister, Mrs. Gerald
Meysembourg of Milwaukee was dressed in a bell shaped street length with a scoop
neckline. Her head piece was pearl trimmed with a blusher veil. She carried a
crescent shaped bouquet of pink roses and white gladiola blossoms.
The
bridesmaids were Mrs. Lavern Lindner, Shirley Weyer, Barbara Weyer, and Donna
Weyer all of Loyal. Their gowns were identical to that of the matron of honor.
The best man was Gerald Meysembourg, broth-in-law of the bride. The
groomsmen were LaVerne Lindner, Artie Lindner, Raymond Wehe and Lawrence
Lindner.
Acting as ushers were Norbert Olson, brother-in-law of the bride
and Robert Weyer, an uncle of the groom.
Following the ceremony a dinner
was held in the church hall. A reception was held in the afternoon at the home
of the bride’s father. Supper was also held in the church hall. A wedding dance
was held at the Silver Dome ballroom in the evening.
The couple both
attended St. Anthony’s School and both graduated from Loyal High School. The
bride was a 1961 graduate and the groom graduated in 1959. The bride was
employed at K-Korners and the groom is a farmer.
Following a honeymoon in
southern Wisconsin, the couple will reside on route 2, Greenwood.
