Schroeder, Edward - Postmaster
4/1/1914
Last Monday Edward Schroeder received official notice of the acceptance of his bonds and his appointment as postmaster of Granton, made absolute. He entered upon his new duties Wednesday morning, April 1st. Mr. Schroeder was the only candidate in the field for the job and his appointment therefore did not come as a surprise. J.M. Tompkins who has served this office as postmaster faithfully and faultlessly for more than ten years was forced to retire owing to change of administration, but we understand that he has been retained by Mr. Schroeder as his assistant. With the well known business ability of the new postmaster and Mr. Tompkins remaining at his post, the patrons of the office may be assured of a continuance of the splendid service which they had enjoyed for so many years.
