With the proceeds derived from their third annual ball,
the firemen this week purchased a number of rubber coasts and hats to be added
to their equipment.
Mrs. L. Moody left today for Winona, Minn., to be
present at her daughter Clara's graduating exercises at the Winona Seminary.
Mrs. Moody and daughter will return home the middle of next week.
Herman
Kerrow and family returned from Silver Lake, Wis., the first of the week. Mr.
Kerrow has several contracts for building ice houses at that place last fall.
They came up in their new Ford automobile.
Monday evening a tame deer was
shipped from this station to the state park at Sparta. Game Warden Tiedeman took
the deer from a farmer by the name of Dittman, who lived in the town of Beaver.
The deer came to Mr. Dittman's about four weeks ago and remained about the farm
most of the time. At night it was sheltered in the barn and allowed to run at
large during the day.
