Powers, Clarabelle "Kay" (27 MAR 1920 - 15 JUL 2013)

Clarabelle "Kay" Powers, 93, Silver Creek, Neb., died on Monday, July 15, 2013, at the Golden Living enter in Columbus, Neb. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Monday, July 22, at United Methodist Church, Silver Creek. Rev. Murry J. Johnston officiated. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, July 27, at Rest Haven Gardens Cemetery, Eau Claire.

Clarabelle Larson was born on March 27, 1920, in Greenwood, to Richard E. and Martha Christine (nee Schultz) Larson. She grew up near Greenwood and graduated from Loyal High School. She married Elmer Powers on April 22, 1989, at the Wesleyan Church in Eau Claire. The couple moved to Silver Creek, Neb., where they have resided since.

Kay was a member of the United Methodist Church, Ladies Aid and Bible Study. She enjoyed bird watching, windmills and traveling to see her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Elmer Powers, Silver Creek, Neb.; a son, Paul (Priscilla) Powers, Marysville, Ohio; a daughter, Annette (Greg) Burger, Eau Claire; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Julie (Earl) Schamehorn, California; and a brother, Dennis Larson, Loyal.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her fi rst husband; a daughter and sonin-law, Mary and Kevin Robb; a grandson, Jason Robb; a brother, Richard C. Larson; and a sister, Athalie Bennett.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
