Miller, Viola E. (Kummer) (3 JUN 1925 - 17 JUL 2013)

Viola E. Miller, 88, of Stratford, passed away with her family by her side on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield.

A memorial service was held Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford. Pastor Sue Eidahl officiated. Burial will follow the service at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Viola E. Miller, age 88, of Stratford, passed away with her family by her side on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the House of the Dove in Marshfield. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford. Pastor Sue Eidahl will officiate. A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of services at the church in Stratford. Burial will follow the service at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Viola was born June 3, 1925 to Ernest and Marjorie (Alms) Kummer in the Town of Richfield.

She received her education at Maple Grove School. Viola and Ewald Miller were joined in marriage on October 5, 1946 at Christ Lutheran Church, Marshfield. They farmed in the town of Bergin, town of Cleveland, and the town of Wien in Marathon County. After farming Viola worked in ginseng gardens, Del Monte Foods, and Figi's. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, and baking. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends.

Viola is survived by her children: Diane Ruether of Rothschild, Wandnetta (Donald) Karl of Stratford, Ewald (Lu Anne) Miller Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, Kevin Miller of Marshfield, Scott (Marie) Miller of Edgar, and Steven (Esther) Miller of Marshfield, . Viola is further survived by 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, her brother, Herman Kummer, sister, Marieta Kummer, and brother-in-law, Bill Laidlaw.

Viola is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ewald Miller Sr., her daughter, Sharon Beaumont, her son, Dean Miller, and her brothers and sisters: Fred Kummer, Ernest Kummer Jr, Marian Leach, and Ada Laidlaw.
