Nikolay, John James
“Jim” “Nik” (29 JUN 1951 - 20 JUL 2013)
John James (Jim) “Nik” Nikolay,
62, Owen, died peacefully in his home on Saturday, July 20, 2013.
A
memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2013, at the Maurina
Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Pat Kelley will officiate. A visitation
will be held from 12:30 p.m. Friday until the time of services at the funeral
home in Abbotsford. A reception will follow the service at Red Arrow Park,
Abbotsford.
John was born June 29, 1951, in Medford to John J. and Helen
(Dravis) Nikolay of Abbotsford.
Jim graduated from Abbotsford High
School in 1969. He spent a good portion of his life as a bar-owner and enjoyed
spending winters in Florida. He had a knack for buying and selling, always
searching particularly for unique items. Jim loved motorcycles, dogs and his cat
“Mouse.”
Family and friends will miss his entertaining personality and
sense of humor the most. He kept them laughing with his story-telling, jokes and
impersonations. He met people easily wherever he went and you’d know whenever he
walked into a room, you were going to have a good time. Jim was a singer and
dancer and a women romancer. He loved to fish for muskie and shared his favorite
spot on the Black River with family.
Jim is preceded in death by his
sister, Kate; and his dad, Jack.
Jim is survived by his mom, Helen;
brothers, Dave and friend, Nancy, Paul and wife, Karen, all of Abbotsford;
sisters, Sharol (Bill) Lehnertz of Eden Prairie, Minn., Mary (John) Kelley of
Green Bay, Kitty of LaCrosse and extended family. Love and prayers and thank you
for being in Jim’s life.
Maurina Schilling Funeral Home is
assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be made to
