Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the
Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford for Mrs. Carrie Peterson, 80, of Abbotsford
who died Friday morning, April 2, at Ingalls Memorial hospital, Harvey, Ill.
Two months ago Mrs. Peterson went to Harvey to make her home with her
son, Gerald.
The Rev. Harold Palmer of Chippewa Falls officiated at
the 1:30 o’clock services after which interment was made in the Curtiss Lutheran
Cemetery at Curtiss.
The pallbearers were Arvid Carlson, Ole Hanson, Pete
Hanson, Clarence Nelson, Arthur Thompson and Cornell Erickson.
Mrs. James Daellenbach was the organist, and selections
were sung by Miss Allar and Miss Hederer.
The former Carrie Elizabeth Hickok was born June 12,
1884, at Curtiss and lived in this area all her life.
On May 14, 1902, she and Adolph Peterson were united in
marriage at Stanley. They made their
home in Abbotsford since the fall of 1918.
Mr. Peterson preceded his wife in death June 29, 1955.
Mrs. Peterson was a former member of the Congregational
Church at Curtiss.
She is survived by six sons, G. Russell Peterson,
Mayville, Ky., Leonard Peterson, Tomah, Kenneth Peterson, Abbotsford, Harold
Peterson, King, George Peterson, Sparta, and Gerald Peterson, Harvey, Ill.; four
daughters, Mrs. George (Viola) Davisson, San Jose, Calif., Mrs. E. V. (Dorothy)
Daggit and Mrs. Raymond (Evelyn) Engel, Chippewa Falls, and Mrs. Verland (Ruth)
Schorer, Colby; 17 grand children, eight great grand children, and a brother,
Russell Hickok, Milwaukee.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
