Mrs. Mary Beawer, 96, of Milwaukee, a former Colby resident, died at the home of her daughter in Milwaukee Sunday noon.

Funeral services will be held today, April 8, at Zion Lutheran church, at Colby, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Harold Woodworth officiating.

Burial will be made in the Colby memorial cemetery.

The body is lying in state at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.

The former Mary Anna Schulz was born in Germany March 5, 1869, and she came to this country when she was 16 years old, settling at Theresa, Wis.

She was married to Charles Beawer in Milwaukee in 1898, and they came to Colby shortly after their marriage, where they farmed in the town of Hull.  In 1935, they moved to Colby.

Mr. Beawer died in 1944, and Mrs. Beawer spent the past 18 years of her life with her daughter, Mrs. Anna Aaron of Milwaukee.

While at Colby, she was a member of Zion Lutheran church and Zion Ladies’ Aid.

Besides Mrs. Aaron, she is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. Henry (Marie) Schaus of Colby and Mrs. Freda Plaski of Elkridge, Maryland, and three sons, William Beawer of Colby, the Rev. Arnold Beawer of Hamburg, Wis., and Fred Beawer of Lynnwood, Wash., as well as 21 grand children and 41 great grand children.

She was preceded in death by five children, besides her husband.
