Christ Kippenhan of Loyal was in our city Sunday.

A.F. Falk of Owen was a business caller here Saturday.

Alba Varney and wife returned from Saxeville Friday night.

W.H. Palms was a business caller at Tioga Thursday and Friday.

Harry Hubbell returned to his home at Beach, N.D. Tuesday.

The Ladies' Aid Society will meet with Mrs. Youngs Friday afternoon.

Mrs. J.J. Orrick went to Abbotsford Monday, where she will visit with friends.

The German Ladies Society will meet with Mrs. Paul Rossman, Jr. Friday, Jan. 22.

Oscar Kippenhan has secured a position with O.C. Colby and son as clerk. (Loyal Tribune)

A.S. Armstrong has recently been appointed deputy sheriff by County Sheriff Eunson.

Lucy Shanks returned to Madison Saturday, where she is employed in the sanatorium.

Mrs. Aug. Berg of eau Claire visited at the home of Elmer Rossman from Saturday until Monday.

Mrs. Cynthia Varney returned to Abbotsford Saturday after spending several days at the home of her son, Chas. Varney.

Every member of the band is requested to bring his instrument and be present at the next meeting in Volk's Hall next Saturday evening, Jan. 16.

Harry Hogue came down from Boyd Thursday, where he is looking after the interests of the Roddis Veneer and Lumber Co. of Marshfield. He returned again Monday.

The members of last year's baseball team are contemplating presenting a drama sometime during the next month. The play will be entitled, "The Reward of Crime or The Love for Gold," and will be under the direction of P.M. Stevens.

The fire alarm sounded last week Wednesday morning on account of the chimney on the Elias Peterson building burning out. Considerable excitement was caused for a few minutes, frightening some, and rousing others from their slumbers. The fire was soon extinguished and no damage resulted.

Mrs. Emma Ware of Eaton became insane on a Milwaukee road train and was finally taken off the train at Appleton, where she was held until the arrival of relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. M.R. Stanley returned from Manawa Monday evening. The professor has been having a run of pneumonia, but is rapidly recovering and we trust he will be in his good health soon.

Ebb Watson was arrested last Friday on a charge of assault and battery and was sentenced Saturday morning to 30 days in county jail and a fine of $25, and cost which amounted to $35.20. He was taken to Neillsville Saturday afternoon.

Mrs. Hannah J. Otis died at the home of her brother, M.L. Jenkins of Eaton, Tuesday, Jan. 12th. The deceased was 85 years old, a widow. She has been an invalid and confined to her bed for a number of years. The funeral will take place Friday at the home at 12:30, burial to be in the Greenwood Cemetery.
