Janesville Man Killed In Plane At Medford, Wis.
Medford, Wis., Sept 7 - I. A. Crowe, Janesville, Wis., was instantly killed
and C. R. Rhodes, St. Paul, Minn., was badly injured when the airplane in which
they were giving an exhibition at the fair-grounds here late yesterday, crashed
to the ground.
The plane failed to come out of a tail spin, due to a
faulty controller after it has ascended to a height of 3,000 feet. Rain was
falling and the weather was bad for flying conditions.
Rhodes was
piloting the plane which was part of a flying circus sent here by a St. Paul
newspaper. Crowe was here visiting with his wife and was a passenger in the
plane. He is a painter at Janesville.
Mrs. Crowe was an eye witness to
the accident which brought death to her husband.
