Rusch, Norma (9 March 1922 - 27 July 2013)
Norma Rusch,
91, died on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Oakbrook Health & Rehab, Thorp.
She was born on March 9, 1922, to William & Bessie (Heck) Breitlow in the Town
of Hixon. Norma was a graduate of Withee High School, class of 1939. On November
24, 1951, Norma was united in marriage to Earl Rusch in Withee. They farmed in
the Town of Hixon.
Norma was a country woman who lived life on her own
terms. She worked the farm beside her husband and raised a family. She truly
loved country living. She picked mushrooms and every berry that grew. She loved
flowers and had a vegetable garden. Friends and family reaped the rewards of her
labor through the pies, cakes, cookies and other dishes she offered when they
visited. Norma endeared herself to many simply through the warmth of her smile.
She also touched the lives of many young people as a school route driver and
a 4-H project leader. After retiring from farming, she volunteered at the Clark
County Senior Center.
Norma is survived by her children: Ed Rusch and
Pamela (Erve) Haglund; and grandson, Evan Haglund.
She was preceded in
death by her husband; parents; and her sister, Mildred Breitlow.
A
gathering of friends and family will be held at a later date.
