Brecht, Clarence (22 Dec 1920-09 Nov 1964)

Clarence J. Brecht, 43, Owen route 1, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home on November 9 at 9:30 a.m.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. Father N. E. King will officiated at the services and burial will take place in the Catholic Cemetery.

Military rites will be conducted at the graveside by American Legion Post 175.

The body will lie in state at the Myre Funeral Home beginningWednesday morning. A general rosary was held on Wednesdayevening at 8 p.m.

Clarence J. Brecht was born on December 22, 1920 at Cashton, and moved to Loyal as a child with his parents. He married the former Shirley Vogel in 1946 at California. They made their home in Loyal where he operated a house moving business, and five years ago moved to the Owen area. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, the Loyal Sportsman’s Club, and Past Commander of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife; four sons, David, Kent, Bruce and Todd; also one daughter, Marlene, all at home.

He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary Brecht, Loyal; four brothers, Peter, Loyal; Herman, Loyal; Emery, Milwaukee; and Jerome, Green Bay; one sister, Mrs. Adolph (Margaret) Gorke, Abbotsford.

His father, Frank preceded him in death in 1952.
