Bye, Bonnie (10 OCT 1964)

Rev. Roy Mish performed the ten a.m. marriage ceremony of Miss Bonnie Kaye Nye and David Paul Jalinski on Saturday, October 10th at St. Hedwig’s Chapel, Thorp. Sister Lawrence and the children’s choir sang the Mass and Linda Tieman sang “Ave Maria,” accompanied by Jan Boardman as organist.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Nye, Thorp and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Jalinski, Wausau.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, chose a floor length bridal gown with a jewel trimmed Sabrina neckline on the fitted bodice of Chantilly lace. The full skirt featured a panel of angel mist taffeta falling into a chapel sweep. Her bouffant illusion veil was secured to a crown of pearls and she carried a cascade of yellow roses and mums.

Faye Martinek, aunt of the bride, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Miss Anita Bobb, Thorp, Miss Phyliss Novak, Schofield and Miss Sandy Streich, Stroughton. They all wore floor length cotillion silhouette in acetate peau de soie detailed with Watteau detachable panels in back. Double tiered crowns trimmed with pearls held their shoulder veils and each carried colonial bouquets consisting of bronze and green mums.

Carrie Benning, Gilman, was flower girl and Dwight Martinek, Thorp, was ring bearer.

James Jalinski was his brother’s best man, and groomsmen were Donnie Nye, Minneapolis, Dale Jalinski and Vince Brick, both of Wausau. Ushers were Wm. Pankratz and Jerry Nye.

A dinner was held at the home of the bride’s parents, and a supper and dance was held at Koolmo’s Ballroom, Gilman.

Bev. Hodowanic, Minneapolis, was in charge of the guest book and Carol Jalinski of the gifts. Joyce Benning, Gilman, cut the wedding cake.

The bride is a 1962 graduate of Thorp High School and was employed at Havenet Nursing Home, Owen. The groom, a 1962 graduate of Wausau Senior High and a 1964 graduate of Wausau Technical Institute, is an accountant for Armour Company, Minneapolis.
