Steele, Arthur (10 SEP 1875 - 8 NOV 1964)

Arthur M. Steele, 89, Abbotsford, died Sunday afternoon at his home in Abbotsford.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Methodist Church in Thorp. The Rev. Scott officiated and burial was in the Thorp cemetery.

Arthur M. Steele was born September 10, 1875 in Greenwood. His marriage to Anna Barret, who preceded him in death about 15 years ago, took place in 1897 in Thorp. In 1954 he married Mrs. Elsie Smith, who survives. Mr. Steele had farmed in the Greenwood and Thorp area until 10 years ago, when he moved to Abbotsford.

Other survivors include a son, Arthur Jr., Thorp; three daughters: Mrs. Charles (Maude) Fimack, Thorp; Mrs. John (Ruth) Zimmer, Greenwood; and Mrs. Otto (Nina) Darge, Solar Springs; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sons.
