Obrochta,
Albert (17 SEP 1886 - 4 NOV 1964)
Albert Obrochta, 78, Rt. 3, Greenwood,
died Wednesday, Nov. 4 at the Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 6, at St. Hedwig’s Chapel, Thorp, at
10:00 with Rev. Edward Masalewicz officiating. Burial was in St. Hedwig’s new
cemetery in Thorp.
Pallbearers were Walter Szczech, Sam Nowobielski, Tony
Pajak, Matt Kopacz, John Trybula, and Raymond Nedza.
Mr. Obrochta was
born on Sept. 17, 1886 in Poland. He came to the United States in 1912, when he
moved to Pennsylvania to work in the coal mines. Later he moved to Illinois and
then to Wisconsin, on a farm south of Thorp, and stayed there until three weeks
before his death.
He is survived by a niece who came from Poland in the
spring and stayed with him; and also a brother in Poland.
