Meinholdt, August William (? - 10 April 1970)

August William Meinholdt, 70, of Independence, Mo. died in a hospital there, April 10. He was born in Greenwood, and had lived in the Independence area about 15 years. He was a former owner of the Inter-City Laundry, Independence.

He was the son of the late Theodor and Ida (Decker) Meinholdt. He was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Independence.

He is survived by his wife, Alta, of the home; four brothers, Arthur Meinholdt, Merrillan, Louis Meinholdt, Neillsville, Oscar and Edward Meinholdt, Greenwood; two sisters, Mrs. Otto (Olga) Reineking, Greenwood, and Mrs. Hans (Alma) Kolpanen, Milwaukee.

Services were held at 1 o’clock April 13 from the church. Burial was made in White Chapel Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers were Marshall Sherlock, Jr., Loma H. Frakes, Calvin Keller, Roger W. Porter, Jerry Creason and R. Steven Porter.
